These are all quite early character designs, with the big slant towards the fiercely culturally diverse cast Bartel's cooking up. Mainly Chinese & Russian pre-industrial revolution influences, of course with a nice dash of steam-punk attitude, because we're re-writing history.
I'm very fond of the way Bartel always manages to get really distinct features into his faces. But I'm very unhappy with everything else.
